Issue:

Regional managers were responsible for staying on top of renewals and lease terms while notice periods had no consistency due to the nature of acquisitions.

Solution:

Avocat created a standardized Lease Addendum of terms that were critical to their operations and legal departments and integrated them into each lease as the term rolled over. Avocat further established a quarterly call with each regional manager that covered each property with a lease expiration within 18 months plus any locations where their needs had changed.

Result:

RecoverCare was able to reduce portfolio renewal costs by 17% using a proactive competitive strategy while business terms reduced risk and simplified real estate decisions going forward.
